Shipping & Postage

How do I know that all the addresses on my mailing list are up to date?

At LivestockDirect we recognize that postage is the highest cost in the printing process.

That is why we run every mailing list through a USPS address updater. The updater checks for old addresses, and those that are either incorrect or no longer exist.

By culling your mailing list of these addresses we make sure you are not paying for catalogs that will be returned as undelivereable.

How does the mailing list need to be formatted?

Your mailing list needs to broken into 7 columns (in no particular order):

  1. First Name
  2. Last Name
  3. Business
  4. Address
  5. City
  6. State
  7. Zip Code

It is not necessary to have both a full name and a business name. You can have one or the other.

What shipment methods do you provide?

At LivestockDirect you have two options for shipping your product to you and your customers.

  1. We can drop-ship your entire order to one address. If you need a smaller quantity of your order shipped to sale managment, or other parties involved in your sale, we can easily ship any amount to their addresses.

  2. If you would like to ship a catalog to everybody on a specified mailing list, you can mail each piece individually using the United States Postal Service First, Standard or Non-Profit Class flat rate shipping method.

What shipping carriers do you use?

LivestockDirect has access to UPS, FedEx and the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Graphic Design

What file format do you need the final graphic design for a project saved as?

All files sent to LivestockDirect need to be saved as a .PDF file. This insures all files sent to us will not lose any formatting or design elements.

What is resolution? What resolution should my artwork be to achieve the highest quality print.

Resolution refers to the number of dots per inch (dpi), or the amount of detail the image has. Higher resolution means a more detailed image, and also larger file and longer upload time. For best results on all of our print products, export or save your artwork at 300 dpi.

CMYK or RGB, which color setting should I use?

All graphic design should use CMYK color settings. It is very important to check your document’s color settings. If it says “RGB”, the colors you see on screen will be much different than the printed colors.

How to Change/Check Color Settings in Adobe® Products:

InDesign:

  • Go to the Edit Menu and choose “Convert to Profile”
  • Change the Destination Space to CMYK: ‘U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2’ and click OK.

Photoshop

  • Go to the Image Menu and choose “Color Mode”
  •  A check mark will appear next to current color mode
  • Select CMYK Color

Illustrator

  • Go to the File Menu and choose “Document Color Mode”
  • A check mark will appear next to current color mode
  • Select CMYK Color
